Homeopathic Treatments for Rosacea

Homeopathy is very controversial when anyone brings it up for rosacea.

I have personally tried homeopathic treatments for rosacea. I tried my first homeopathic treatment for rosacea, Dr. Reckeweg® R17 Wart Removal & Eczema Formula, which didn't work. You can read my experience if you so desire at this page.

In December 2007 I went to the Lam Clinic, Inc., AKA, The Institute of BioEnergetic Medicine (IBEM), in downtown Chinatown, Honolulu, HI. Frederick M. K. Lam, M.D., uses Electro Dermal Screening Test (EDST) and after screening me he prescribed a homeopathic treatment for an enlarged prostate which was the main reason I went to Dr. Lam. I also mentioned at my initial screening that I had rosacea, so he included a homeopathic treatment for rosacea as well in this program. I have no idea which ones were for the prostate and which ones were for the rosacea. It includes eleven weeks of subcutaneous injections of the following:

Hydrochinonum
Petroleum
Viscum Alf PQP Nigra
Arsenicum Alb
Belladonna
Helleborus
Nierehypernephroid
Sabal Serrulatum
Chronic Prostatitis

It took four months for the ampule vials to arrive from Germany. I began treatment of the subcutaneous injections for ten weeks from May 5, 2008 through July 7, 2008. These homeopathic formulas are specially prepared through the Lam Clinic and the initial subcutaneous injections were given after the screening. I was supposed to come back once a week for ten more weeks but I was allowed to give my own injections since I used to give injections when I was an EMT working in a rural clinic in the early 70s. The medicine comes from Germany which regulates and promotes homeopathy. It took about four months for the medicine to get through customs. I was also screened with the assistance of Dr. Oliveira. The reason I chose to go to the Lam Clinic was an anecdotal report I heard from a patient who went to this clinic who was helped for another problem. I found the treatments promoted by my urologist wanting and wanted to see if homeopathy would be a better alternative. As I mentioned before, when I mentioned that I had rosacea, Dr. Lam included treatment for rosacea as part of the program. In the screening he said I had high estrogen levels which is the only thing I remember that was significant. Whether I do or not have a high estrogen level remains to be seen since I have not had any clinical testing for this. I have had no before or after clinical tests for estrogen. The EDST which Dr. Lam uses is very controversial and one must agree to sign a waiver before using this treatment since it is not approved by the medical authorities and is a very controversial treatment.

After taking the eleven weeks I do think it helped my enlarged prostate and my rosacea seems better too. However, I still have an enlarged prosate and my rosacea has not been cured. I am supposed to go back for further treatment but I can't afford the inter-island flights to Honolulu and the cost of the continued treatment. This treatment is usually not covered by medical insurance nor Medicare/Medicaid. One must pay cash or credit card up front for the treatment which is expensive.

Homeopathic treatment for rosacea is a controversial subject mainly because of the American Medical Association's opposition to such treatments. Allopathic Medicine according to Wikipedia is defined as:

"the broad category of medical practice that is sometimes called Western medicine, biomedicine, scientific medicine, or modern medicine," with varying degrees of acceptance by medical professionals in different locales."

Most medical authorities in the USA don't even accept the term allopathic medicine and this subject is also quite controversial. However, since the AMA has limited success in treating rosacea, alternatives are being promoted for the treatment of rosacea. Sometimes, anecdotal reports claim much success in using alternatives for rosacea.

Homeopathy is one of these alternatives. However, I haven't heard of any successful reports of rosaceans using homeopathy either putting their rosacea in remission or curing it.

In the above thread at post #22 by boc who points out that Prosacea is homeopathic which apparently is the best homeopathic rosacea treatment that has been reported to work by rosaceans than any other. So at this point Prosacea is the top rated homeopathic rosacea treatment.

If I hear of any homeopathic treatments for rosacea that work I will display this on my site and mention them at this page. But for now, the verdict is that I am not really sure whether homeopathy is a recommended treatment for rosacea. But as you can see, I continue to be open minded about rosacea treatment.
