Please read my LEGAL DISCLAIMER about using any drug mentioned on this site. In England or Mexico patients can mix their own formula and a prescription from a doctor is not required. In the USA a prescription is required and only compounding pharmacists can prepare the DMSO Fluconazole formula. Dr Geoffrey Nase is very emphatic that rosaceans should not use DMSO (see this url) (another).
My compounding pharmacist informs me that this is the formula for DMSO 1% Fluconazole :
INGREDIENT LIST:
1 gram fluconazole/Diflucan, (1% active ingredient)
200 mg Ibuprofen, (0.2% non-essential ingredient)
100 ml Pharmaceutical Grade DMSO, (i.e. Dimethyl Sulfoxide)
MIXING INSTRUCTIONS:
To make 100 ml of [FLUCONAZOLE 1% SOLUTION]:
Triturate, (i.e. grind to a fine powder), 1 gm of Fluconazole, USP powder, to reduce particle size.
Triturate 200 mg of Ibuprofen, USP powder, to reduce particle size.
Dissolve powders in 50 ml of Dimethyl Sulfoxide, USP.
Add sufficient Dimethyl Sulfoxide, USP to make 100 ml.
Stir until uniformly combined.
So if I understand the above formula, to make a 10 % Fluconazole the formula would be 10 grams of fluconazole to the above list instead of one gram.
