Profit

Since January 1999 I have been making profit on rosacea. Not very much when you consider the amount of time and investment I have expended on this, but nevertheless, I have made profit. This is because of the internet and the fact that I am a webmaster and understand the economic forces that come into play with treating rosacea. How did this come about?

I wrote the book, the Rosacea Diet. I began promoting it on my first commercial web site and it simply grew because I understood that rosaceans wanted alternatives to what was being offered to treat rosacea by the pharmaceutical companies of the USA. As anyone knows, the pharmaceutical companies of the USA have a great impact on the physicians and dermatologists who treat rosacea. Since I wanted to promote my book, I understood clearly that going against the pharmaceutical companies would not be in my best interests so I tried to establish a commercial working relationship since many rosaceans prefer treating their rosacea with prescription drugs. I entered eventually into an affiliate program that allows me to offer prescription drugs online. That makes the pharmaceutical companies happy. Check out the list of prescription drugs that are prescribed for rosacea. Quite a list isn't it? The most popular prescription drugs I have listed based on my database I began in 2005. Then came IPL and Laser which are probably the next most popular treatments for rosacea. I haven't figured out a way to make any profit on that one. Then of course, there are the non prescription products for rosacea and there is an impressive list I have compiled on this. If I can make a profit on non prescription products for rosacea I try but not everyone who sells rosacea non prescription products will share that profit with me, but somewhere on my website I will tell you about it for free. Usually my news page will announce some new product. Why do I do this? To make my web site the best commercial clearinghouse of information on rosacea. That is why this web site is so popular. And it is possible you may buy my book. It doesn't take a MBA from Harvard to figure that one out.

I discoverd a product made in China that really helps my rosacea and established an affiliate relationship to be able to offer this product and you can only imagine how this upsets American treatments for rosacea but so far, this is legal. But the main thing is that you know this is a one man website and there is no hidden agenda here since I am very up front about this. What part of profit do you not understand?

Non Profit

It became clear from the start that many rosaceans are not happy with the treatments offered by physicians and dermatologists. The non profit organizations for rosacea are few but growing. I decided to enter the non profit field since I felt it was needed. The NRS is absolutely centered on promoting only what the American Medical Association offers to treat rosacea. I have written an editorial on the NRS which you may like to read. I formed a non profit organization in 2004 that is made up by rosaceans and for rosaceans, since I am one myself. Two Hats
